Can you really use your hair dryer to unfreeze the fill tube of a built in icemaker on a freezer?

What is the best way to do this. From behind the freezer or through the freezer????

Hot water through a turkey baster worked like a charm.

We had this problem a couple of years ago........You can do this , but remember to unplug your refrigerator/freezer first .Then you can do it once you open the freezer door, at a distance. You don't want to place the very hot dryer on the tube

Luckily, we had an extra fridge in the basement(a lot of work)

We also used coolers with ice for some things...

TURNED OUT THE TUBE WAS CLOGGED WITH SOME DEBRIS...,,,,,,AND we cleaned out fridge/freezer real good then.

a household hair dryer will work, but dousing it with hot water will work faster, if you can get to it. Unplugging the freezer is key. Then clean and dry the tube if it has no other problems that you can find.
