are they expensive?
What does a diffuser (for a hair dryer) do?
They diffuse the air, you still get the heat from the dryer without it blowing your hair everywhere! Like putting your hand in front of a heater, lots of heat, no wind!
People normally use it for curly, or set styles where you don't want to mess it up by blowing it everywhere. If you have straight hair or are straightening it you don't need it.
They are cheap, probably like 10 dollars or less and sometimes they come with the dryer, both comments already stated above.

What does a diffuser (for a hair dryer) do?
A diffuser goes on the end of your dryer for curly hair, perms, etc.. It keeps the forceful air from straightening out your hair or making it frizzy, They are GREAT! Sally's has them, they look like a mesh sock..they are no more than $3 or so. or ya can get the big plastic diffuser....more expensive, bulky, and no better than the cloth diffuser. Owned my own salons for over 25 yrs.
What does a diffuser (for a hair dryer) do?
No they are not expensive, but come with your blow dryer. It usually helps you get a curly look for your hair. Mainly by gently placing your hair in the device and moving your arm in an up and down motion until you get a scruntch-like curl or wave. The closer to your scalp the more fro like it will become! Unless you like that look. Hope it helps.
